A Chronicle of My Summer in India, by Paul Jay
(Note: My photographs from the trip are now up on a new website. Just click here to go to the site)
This summer I was thrilled to join a group of educators for a trip to India funded by a Fulbright-Hays Fellowship. The trip was generously organized by two Oakton Community College faculty members, Madhuri Deshmukh and Katherine Schuster. Our main aim was to explore the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi's work in India. This blog contains a narrative of my trip, including my own thoughts about the provocative issues we confronted over the course of many discussions with social activists in India. I’ve also provided links to most of the destinations we visited. Click here to visit my academic website. My email address is pjay@luc.edu. Feel free to post comments and suggestions.

Hello Paul,
I'm Alok Munot, from Pune.
It was nice to read in todays newspaper that your group was touring India studying Mahatma Gandhi.
I had printed picture postcards based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi and would like to present the same to your group.
Unfortunately I found out that you have already left Pune.
So if you can send me some address in India where I can send it before you leave, I shall have it sent immediately.
Wishing you a good time on the rest of your tour,
Warm regards,
Alok Munot
